Investment Strategies

The WST investment platform comprises six core strategies:

  1. Domestic Equity Portfolios - Our Large Cap GARP strategy seeks to invest in established companies with strong earnings and cash flow growth and attractive valuations. Portfolios are diversified across major economic sectors. Similarly, our Multi Cap Growth strategy invests in companies with above average growth expectations at reasonable valuations. Portfolios are diversified across multiple economic sectors.

  2. Actively Managed Mutual Fund Portfolios -  The objective of our managed  mutual fund strategy is to combine actively managed funds in each asset class in a portfolio that meets the objectives of the individual client. The process combines both strategic and tactical asset allocation tools. We perform ongoing quantitative and qualitative due diligence to ensure that the funds we own continue to meet our stringent criteria.

  3. Passively Managed Mutual Fund Portfolios – Our passive strategies are designed to deliver asset class returns through mutual funds managed by Dimensional Funds (DFA), Vanguard, and Fidelity. We also manage portfolios of Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s).  Asset allocations are based upon client objectives with rebalancing driven by market conditions and client needs.

  4. Taxable Bond Portfolios – Our taxable fixed income strategies are designed to meet the income and capital preservation objectives of our clients.  Our primary holdings consist of investment-grade debt including U.S. Government bonds, U.S. Agency bonds and corporate bonds.  Portfolios typically consist of bonds with short to intermediate maturities.

  5. Tax-free Bond Portfolios - Our tax-exempt fixed income strategy focuses on debt issued by municipalities whose interest qualifies for exemption from federal and state income tax.  Portfolios are designed to meet the income needs and risk objectives of our clients.  We emphasize high quality securities and primarily invest in investment grade bonds with short to intermediate maturities.

  6. Dynamic Asset Allocation Portfolios – This alternative investment strategy seeks to deliver equity-like returns over a market cycle with less volatility than an all-stock portfolio.  Our proprietary technical trading strategies identify market trends and invest accordingly.  The objective is to participate in rising markets while seeking the safety of cash in declining markets.
